Top Reads of 2021

2021 marks the sixth year of participating in (and completing) a Goodreads Reading Challenge. While always fun (and somewhat unnecessary since I read a lot anyway) this year was a bit different.

For most of the year, I was not in a good headspace. It’s like my brain can’t consume any other information or things that are uncertain. New books, podcasts, tv shows or movies… all overwhelming and hard to focus on, much less enjoy. And when I get that way, I tend to fall back on re-reads, romcoms, and other things that make me feel happy and comforted. So that’s really what the bulk of my 120 reads of the year (so far) have been.

However, there were still plenty of brand new (or at least new to me) reads that kept me company and brought me joy this year. So without further ado, here are my top reads of 2021:
